We’re thrilled to announce that Tessera Strategies is partnering with Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) through an initiative funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation: the Repository Crisis Scorecards (RCS) project. This collaboration focuses on understanding and strengthening the resilience of data repositories during periods of disruption (whether caused by natural disasters, cyberattacks, funding challenges, or other crises).
The RCS project builds on the work of the ESIP community to help data repositories assess and improve their preparedness, response, and recovery capacities. Tessera Strategies is proud to contribute its expertise in collaboration, grant support, and project management to help advance this important effort.
Our Role in the Project
At Tessera Strategies, we specialize in helping scientific research communities thrive; particularly those working in distributed or interdisciplinary settings. Within the RCS project, we’re applying our expertise across several of our core service areas:
- Community and Collaborative Development: Supporting content development, resource curation, and tool optimization to help the RCS project effectively share knowledge, engage participants, and ensure consistency across all communications and materials.
- Grant and Project Management: Providing grant proposal support, project planning, and implementation coordination to help manage timelines, deliverables, and reporting. Our team also supports policy development and focus group facilitation to ensure project activities are inclusive, ethical, and well-organized.
- Strategic Planning and Roadmapping: Helping define goals, milestones, and communication strategies that guide project progress and alignment across partners.
By combining ESIP’s leadership in data stewardship with our experience in facilitating collaboration, managing complex projects, and designing inclusive engagement, we aim to create practical tools and insights that strengthen repository resilience across the research ecosystem.
Connecting to Our Broader Mission
This partnership reflects the heart of what we do at Tessera Strategies: building systems that help people work better together. Whether developing research programs, managing collaborative networks, or supporting organizations through change, our services are designed to:
- Enhance communication and coordination within distributed teams.
- Align goals and strategies through structured planning and evaluation.
- Cultivate communities of practice that support innovation and shared learning.
The RCS project exemplifies these principles, using collaboration as both the process and the outcome to strengthen the global data infrastructure that science depends on.
Get Involved
The RCS project welcomes participation from repository managers, data curators, and other stakeholders interested in strengthening data resilience. Learn more about the project and how you can engage by visiting ESIP’s announcement or the Repository Crisis Scorecards project page.
